Crue
Crue - Acrylic on canvas · Palette knife · 30 × 40 in · Unframed · Original · Los Angeles, California
Spring. The water has decided it is finished staying in its banks. Turquoise seeps into chartreuse, green islands hold their ground for now, and the boundary between land and water is a negotiation. Crue is a painting about that moment of beautiful overtaking: not disaster, not destruction, but the quiet, unstoppable assertion of water finding its level. Painted entirely with a palette knife, the surface flickers with the same restless energy as light on moving water.
There is something hopeful in a flood, if you look at it right.
Acrylic on canvas. Palette knife. Certificate of authenticity included. Ready to hang unframed.
From Le Monde Vu, the landscape series of Mémoire Vivante by Laurence Gamelin.
